In Australia , we have two main levels of certification for organic produce & foods.
They are:
- Certified Organic: Where producers have been monitored by their certifying organization for three years or more and have satisfied the certifying organization that they are growing to their organic standards.
- Certified In Conversion: Similar to “Certified Organic” except monitoring has been undertaken for only one year or more, therefore certification is still in progress.
Both are audited annually by their certification bodies, to ensure standards are being maintained.
